• GENFANGST

With GENFANGST, we create something beautiful and tell the story of fishing. The concept revolves around the recycling and rethinking of materials from fishing that are either surplus or destined for disposal.

We offer GENFANGST workshops. Participants receive a presentation on sustainability and have the opportunity to create beautiful products from fishing materials such as yarn, nets, plastic, etc. Our workshops are suitable for students, but adults love them too.

  • Future Fish Festival

In September 2023, we held our first Future Fish Festival. And wow, what an incredible day with 750 bright children at a calm Hanstholm Harbor!

The schools got a taste of life by the sea with maritime education, action on the water, visits aboard ships, music from Bent Bro & Anders Bro, intense debates – and a series of innovative workshops, ranging from workshops and net weaving to politics and portrait painting of the modern fisherman.

Throughout the project, we have become even more excited about the perspectives of youth on fishing, and we believe more than ever that openness and education are the way forward.

Let's continue to inspire and educate the upcoming generations on the importance of preserving our sea and maritime heritage.

The project was partially funded by Erasmus+.

  • Fishiverse

In collaboration with children, youth, researchers, fishermen, and other sea enthusiasts, we are creating a digital universe. Here, we aim to inspire young people to learn about fishing by sparking their curiosity. We want to share knowledge across the EU.

Why? Because we believe it's essential for children and youth to discover the exciting world beneath the sea's surface. It not only offers exciting job opportunities and rich cultural history but also addresses important topics like climate and the future. All while enjoying delicious food.

  • Fishfluencer

Fishfluencer - what is that? Well, it's our latest project, which is about developing a digital strategy for how we communicate fishing to children and young people through social media.

The project has been made possible through the BAR fund, which is EU funds allocated in connection with BREXIT. This gave us the opportunity to learn more about how we can use social media to communicate about fishing.

The project was funded by the European Union through the BAR fund.
